Danny Wearing

The one baby item I simply couldn't live without is my sling. Whoever figured this out was a genius. While very common in most other places in the world, baby wearing is not so common in western culture. This is evidenced by the frequent (and occasionally stupid) questions I get when wearing Danny in public. "Is there a baby in there?" "Where are his legs?" "Does he just sit like that all day?" "Does he like it?" and quite frequently "Where did you get that?"

As Paul said, the sling is the equivalent to the "hands free" on your cell phone. It allows you to do what you need to do while staying connected. Danny goes in the sling when grocery shopping, doing laundry, getting the mail, and eating dinner. He's actually sitting in it right now. When he was first born, he mostly reclined in it. Sometimes it was the only time he would sleep for more than five minutes. He could even nurse like that. It certainly made going out a lot easier. Now that he's bigger, he mostly sits up in the "kangaroo hold". He even falls asleep like that every now and then. He just loves being close to Mommy and looking at what's going on in the world.
