Danny, Duplos, & Hummus

Danny continues to amaze and delight us with his growing repertoire of words and abilities. Today, he tried to repeat a knock knock joke he heard on Backyardigans. It goes something like. "Knock knock. Who? Orange." He has also been incredibly upset every time he pees- crying "pee pee" and walking along like he has a balloon between his knees. Or he rips his diaper off and starts running away from us. (Thus the naked baby picture above). Guess that means we really need to start potty training. He continues to spend most of his day playing with duplos- especially his Percy the train. Yesterday he built this "ship". Pretty awesome for a just turned 2 year old.

Danny also loves "dip dip"- any kind of dip, but mostly ketchup and soy sauce. This morning he had some hummus and crackers for breakfast (addmittadly not what I would eat, but it worked for him). I think he would have eaten more if he hadn't been so upset by the mess he made.

Danny's Birthday Party

After a full day at a craft fair, we held Danny's 2nd Birthday party! We had a few families over- all of Danny's favorite friends. We had BBQ and Pancit (traditional Filipino noodles). I made "Thomas" cake, which was quite the ordeal. It was low key, but a lot of fun for everyone- especially Danny.

Danny with Lolo and Lola

Paul's parents flew down for the weekend for a visit. Lola hadn't seen Danny for 6 months, so the visit was long over due. Danny sure had fun playing with them.

Doing exercises with Lola.

Tuckered out from playing. What a comfy place to lay.

Danny Turns 2!

We can't believe we've survived two years with Danny! He is a bundle of energy and all boy. Danny loves to bounce, jump and race. He counts to two (sometimes three) and knows colors (most of the time). He sings along to the Thomas the Tank engine theme song, Backyardigans, and a few other misc. songs. He prays at meals and before bed (today at lunch he thanked God for Hulk). He and Paul make elaborate duplo creations, especially trains and space ships. At night he says "sing, Mama" and when I send him off with Paul so I can do homework he says "Mama, coming".

Danny is a joy to watch as he grows and learns. He is our love and most precious gift.

He also loves Play-doh and coloring. :)

Danny plays the "smoosh" game with Dada.
