Lolo ("grandpa") and Lola ("grandma") were very happy to see Danny. In their kitchen they have posters full of pictures they've printed out of the Bida (their nickname for Danny which means "hero" in Tagalog).
Sunday we relaxed most of the day and drove out to Lancaster to have dinner with some of my extended family. Monday Paul's mom and I braved the last minute shoppers to go to Trader Joe's. In the evening we drove into Center City to go to a Christmas Eve mass. Some close family friends had invited us to join a large group of Filipinos in the rectory for dinner. Danny made friends with everyone.
When we got home, we opened our presents. Danny really enjoyed ripping the wrapping paper. His favorite gift was probably the Thomas the Tank-engine toothbrush.
